Wine Bar
fitout // Surry Hills, nsw
Inspired by the raw, honesty approach of early 20th Century Swedish architect Sigurd Lewerentz and the memory of a smokey boudoir which we heard about but could never find, we began peeling back the layers of the previous, much-loved cafe whilst carefully inserting a 'constructed', almost hand-made interior.

The palette of materials is a little expected, a little eclectic; formwork plywood, copper and bronze, cow hide, pressed tin, electrical and plumbing components, kangaroo skin and paint.
And check out Renata's cute toilets!
It has been 'improved' a lot since we did the work so please don't blame us...
Collaboration with great friends Sam Spurr and artist Renata Pari
